SAN ANTONIO – A new documentary highlighting the wildlife and waterways that shape Texas is coming to theaters Friday.
“Deep in the Heart 2: Texas Rivers” is the follow-up to the 2022 film “Deep in the Heart.” The new documentary is narrated by Texas native Ethan Hawke.

The film takes viewers across Texas, showcasing “the abundant diversity of wildlife that calls Texas home while confronting the critical water challenges facing a rapidly growing population,” according to the film’s website.
The Rio Grande, Sabine River and Neches River are among the rivers featured in the documentary, directed and written by Ben Masters.
Filmmakers also turn their attention to the water challenges facing Texas as the state’s population continues to grow.
The original “Deep in the Heart,” narrated by Matthew McConaughey, was released in 2022.
