The nonprofit credits the generosity of the San Antonio community and its community partners for the new additions.

Over the next several years, the new vehicles will cover hundreds of thousands of miles as the nonprofit delivers more than 1.3 million meals to seniors in the area.

"We always have a challenge keeping our vehicles new and rolling. They take a pounding out here on our city streets and freeways. The vehicles … hold 250-300 meals,” said Vinsen Faris, CEO of Christian Senior Services. “These corporate sponsors stepped up to the plate and donated big, very, very generously.”

The fleet of vehicles for Meals on Wheels San Antonio now totals to 34. The organization is delivering meals every weekday to 3,800 homebound seniors in Bexar County.
