BOERNE, Texas – One Navy mom who hadn't seen her kids in more than a year surprised her two kids at school Monday, and the reunion was filled with excitement and tears.
It was an emotional moment not only for the mom and her children, but for the teachers and other students as well.
Heidi Dahlin surprised them at Hill Country Montessori School in Boerne.
She has been deployed for the past year in Bahrain with the Navy.
Her daughters, Jade and Catie, were quite excited to see their mom for the first time in a long time.
"Its crazy. She's grown a lot," Dahlin said. "Katie has long hair. Jade (has) grown too -- learned to read, learned to tie her shoes."
Dahlin said she was able to Facetime with her daughters while she was away, but she's happy to be back home and can't wait to spend a lot of quality time with them.
