Police said there was a pushing match between the three suspects and a man and his friends -- all before Contreras allegedly shot the man in the abdomen and ran off.

Investigators said the victim was shown a photo array and Contreras was identified as the person who shot him.

Contreras was arrested this past October for the crime. Soon after SAPD obtained a search warrant for his car and found guns, ammunition and three bags of marijuana inside.
