SAN ANTONIO – This year, the H-E-B Christmas tree lighting ceremony will take place at Travis Park instead of Alamo Plaza, city officials announced Friday.
The city of San Antonio moved the tree lighting so that the downtown square can be transformed into a winter wonderland.
This marks the 33rd year San Antonio will celebrate the cherished ceremony.
Throughout the holidays at Travis Park, the city and CENTRO San Antonio will host a range of family friendly, holiday-themed programming such as movie nights, live music shows, storytelling sessions and photos with Santa.
H-E-B will kick off the holiday festivities with the annual tree lighting ceremony on Nov. 24. The celebration is free and open to the public.
The event will be combined with CENTRO San Antonio’s Annual Lighting of Travis Park, during which more than 250,000 holiday lights will be on display.
