SUTHERLAND SPRINGS, Texas – Police who converged on the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs, Texas, said there are “multiple victims” dead inside the church, but currently no active threat after taking down the gunman identified as Devin Patrick Kelley, of New Braunfels.
In the latest report, at least 27 people have been killed and 30 people have been injured in the mass shooting.

At least six helicopters were called to the church -- located about 40 miles east of San Antonio -- transporting victims from the scene of the deadly shooting.

According to the neighbors, the Sutherland Springs First Baptist Church typically brings in “around 50 people” for Sunday morning service.
Just a little over an hour after the shooting was reported, police told KSAT’s Massey that the shooter Kelley is now “dead and there is no more active threat” to the area.

FBI agents were seen arriving at the church, taping and blocking off the area as family and friends wait to hear if loved ones are safe.

In a video captured by Massey, residents in tears were seen holding hands while praying for the victims.
