SAN ANTONIO – An 10-year-old girl watching television in a bedroom inside her home was shot and killed on the city's North Side early Thursday morning, San Antonio police said.
The child was identified as Deliah Hernandez.
The shooting was reported just before 7 a.m. in the 120 block of Harwood Drive, found near Basse Road and West Avenue.
Authorities said Hernandez was shot in the chest and was pronounced dead after emergency crews failed to revive her.

San Antonio Police Chief William McManus could not confirm if the shooting was a drive-by or done on foot, but he did say that there could be multiple suspects.
Officials said they do believe the shooting to be gang-related. An older brother of the victim said he thinks he was the intended target, McManus said.
Residents in the area said they heard as many as seven shots fired. A total of five people were home at the time of the shooting.
“It’s beyond tragic,” McManus said. “Any day is bad, but on Thanksgiving makes it worse. There will be a special place for this person. This is just unforgivable.”
