Man wounded in exchange of gunfire outside NW Side apartment complex

Incident was reported just before 6 a.m. in 6600 block of Prue Road

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police responded to a call for a shooting on the city's Northwest Side early Monday morning.

The shooting was reported just before 6 a.m. at an apartment complex in the 6600 block of Prue Road, located not far from Babcock Road.

According to police, three to four men were exchanging gunfire in the parking lot when one of them was hit in the hand and then ran upstairs to his apartment.

The man's roommates thought he had been shot in the chest because he was holding his hand near his heart.

The Eagle helicopter was up searching the area following the shooting. SAPD said they have two people in custody who they are questioning and officials said they may be witnesses.
