No description found

SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Zoo will officially break ground on its new giraffe exhibit on Monday at 10 a.m.

Construction is expected to last roughly five months, and the exhibit is set to open to the public in late November, just in time for the holidays.

The zoo has been without giraffe for the past five years. Zoo officials and guests are excited to once again house the tall creatures.

They will be welcomed in an open, naturalistic habitat that sits along the zoo's notable limestone cliffs. The exhibit will feature several species of African hoof stock and birds along with something never before seen at the San Antonio Zoo -- a giraffe feeding station.

Imagine being eye-to-eye with the tallest land animal, truly an experience you'll never forget. This fun encounter will be the San Antonio Zoo's most interactive exhibit!

The San Antonio Zoo appreciates the generosity of John and Bobbie Nau, with Silver Eagle Distributors, for their generosity as the title sponsor for the new giraffe exhibit.
