SAN ANTONIO – On Tuesday, the San Antonio Housing Authority waiting list for Section 8 Housing Choice vouchers will reopen with a new online application process.

"Our voucher program is presently funded to assist 13,000 local families, but our research indicates that as many as 150,000 San Antonio families could be eligible for Section 8 housing assistance," says Lourdes Castro Ramírez, SAHA President and CEO. "Our new online application and partnership with the San Antonio Public Library will help to make the application easier to access, as well as more streamlined and efficient."
The online application will be available at http://saha.apply4housing.com from the SAHA website at www.saha.org. Anyone with special needs can call 1-877-550-1109.
Due to limited funding and voucher availability, applicants can expect to remain on the waiting list approximately 3-5 years.
Applicants can use the computers at any of the San Antonio Public Library's 26 branches. To find the one closest to you, call 210-207-2500. Additional staff will be on-site at select library locations to provide one-on-one assistance for applicants. A list of additional partners with access to personal computers is available at www.saha.org<http://www.saha.org>.
