SAISD elementary teacher charged with public lewdness

SAN ANTONIO – A San Antonio Independent School District teacher has been arrested and charged with public lewdness.

Javier Hernandez, 37, was arrested along with another male Tuesday just before 11 a.m. in Olmos Park, according to a San Antonio police report.

The other suspect was identified in the police report as 45-year-old Andres Perez III. Perez was arrested and charged with public lewdness as well, the police report stated.

The men were taken into custody by officers investigating sexual offenses in the park, the report stated.

An SAISD spokesperson says Hernandez taught second-grade at Miller Academy last school year. The district continues to gather more information on the arrest.
