SAN ANTONIO – A Schertz-Cibilo-Universal City Independent School District board member was arrested Wednesday night on suspicion of assaulting a relative, jail records show.
According to jail records, Place 5 board member Gary Inmon was arrested by Schertz police on a charge of assault of a family member by impeding breathing, or choking.

Inmon's biography on the school district's website said that he was elected to the board in 2000 and is serving his fifth term.
He had previously served two terms as board president.
According to the Guadalupe County Elections Office, Inmon is a candidate for Justice of the Peace. He is running for place No. 3.
School district spokesman Ed Suarez released the following statement regarding Inmon's arrest:
"SCUCISD is aware of the alleged incident involving Board Trustee Gary Inmon. It is a police matter, and the district is monitoring the situation," Suarez said.
