SAN ANTONIO – Children At Risk has released its 2017 school rankings for Texas, including the top elementary, middle and high schools in San Antonio.

The rankings are based on student performance on STAAR tests for math and reading, as well as improvement on those scores over time and performance compared to other schools statewide in similar levels of poverty.

Of the top 10 elementary schools, six are part of North East Independent School District.

The top middle schools are more spread out across districts but NEISD still has the most, with three in the top 10.

Northside Independent School District wins the high school category with three schools in the top 10, followed by NEISD and San Antonio Independent School District.
