Victim shot once in abdomen

SAN ANTONIO – A man in his 20s was taken to the hospital after being shot in the Macy’s parking lot at North Star Mall on the North Side, police said.

The call for the shooting came in a little after 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Police said several shots were fired by a person in a dark-colored, small sedan at the man, who was standing outside his vehicle.

The man was shot once in the abdomen, police said. The gunman sped off after the shooting.

Police said there were several witnesses, but it was hard for them to see due to poor lighting.

The man, who suffered life-threatening injuries, was taken to University Hospital by emergency medical services. His injuries are now considered non-life-threatening, but he is not stable, police said.
