SAN ANTONIO – Update, 6:43 p.m. Oct. 13, 2018:
“The fiber issue that affected some parts of the San Antonio area earlier today has been fixed and the network is working normally,” a spokesperson for AT&T said in an emailed statement.

Some AT&T customers are unable to call 911 in Bexar County and Comal County, according to the Comal County Sheriff's Office.
The Sheriff's Office said the New Braunfels Police Department and the Bexar County Sheriff's Office were experiencing issues.
According to Comal County officials, AT&T customers may receive the message below if attempting to call 911:
“Due to local telephone trouble in the area you are calling, your call cannot be completed at this time.”
AT&T is reportedly working to fix the outage. In the meantime, authorities are asking those with an emergency to call 911 with a home phone or cellphone from another provider.
Michelle Ramos, a spokeswoman for the San Antonio Police Department, said San Antonio was not experiencing issues. However, if anyone in San Antonio is unable to connect via 911, they should call the non-emergency number at 210 207-7273.
