In a statement sent to the board dated Thursday, Robinson said, in part: "My experiences at South San have been personally rewarding. The support of the parents and community has helped me appreciate the district. It is with a heavy heart that I respectfully submit my resignation as Superintendent."

Robinson came to South San from the Eagle Pass Independent School District, where she was the assistant superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction, in July 2012.

In May of 2013, the board ousted its president, vice-president and secretary in a special board meeting.

One issue Robinson faced was dealing with the $2.5 million that the district owed the state after the district was paid too much for its attendance numbers.
