Suspect charged in burglary of South Side business, police say

Mario Martinez, 33, tried to steal from Noble Finance on SW Military Dr

SAN ANTONIO – A 33-year-old man has been charged with breaking into a South Side business, San Antonio police said.

Mario Martinez has been taken into police custody.

According to an arrest warrant affidavit, the burglary happened July 27 at a Noble Finance located in the 1300 block of Southwest Military Drive.

Police said the manager arrived at work and found a hole in the wall and damage to the floor-mounted safe. It was discovered that the hinges and handles to the safe had both been ground off but that he was not able to get inside, the affidavit said. There was also damage to the alarm and the electrical panel.

Detectives matched prints left at the scene to Martinez, police said.

He is charged with burglary of building.
