Suspects sought in deadly shooting

SAPD: Victims may have been shot in retaliation

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police responded to a shooting at the Alazan Apache Courts apartments, in the 1100 block at San Fernando, just before 2 a.m. on Thursday.

According to police, 24-year-old Moses Michael Jimenez and 19-year-old Alfred Estrada were standing outside listening to music when shots were fired.

Jimenez was shot in the back and died at the scene.

Estrada was shot in the arm and transported to University Hospital.

Police say they believe the incident may have been in retaliation to a fight that had happened several days earlier.

"What it looks like is our suspects came back with a handgun and shot at the victims," said San Antonio police Sgt. Chris Benavides.

Neighbor Deanna Media said she heard the gunshots ring out and was shocked to see someone had been killed.

"Today I'm shaken up, seeing a dead body," she said. "It's very scary for me because I live here. It's my second year here and I have two babies of my own. It's very sad to see someone right here almost by my house dead."

Police haven't made any arrests but say they have strong leads in the case.

They say the suspects are two young men between the ages of 15 and 20, who were seen wearing black sweaters and black bandanas around their necks.

Police ask anyone with information about the shooting to call 224-STOP.
