A woman was rescued from a sinkhole in El Paso just moments before her car was swallowed by water.
The El Paso Fire Department said the woman’s car fell into a sinkhole caused by a water main break on Tuesday.
Video from the ELFD shows firefighters and onlookers rescuing the woman through the car’s rear window. She was escorted to safety before the car went underwater, into the hole.
She was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, authorities said.
The El Paso Water utility and the Texas Department of Transportation also responded to the scene.
On Wednesday, the utility company said crews removed the car from the sinkhole.
Crews “will now work to remove debris and make repairs to the water line,” the utility company said in a Facebook post.
