ARLINGTON, Texas – A shooting at an apartment complex in the Dallas-Fort Worth area has left two men and a woman dead, police said Friday.

The shooting in Arlington was reported around 8:30 p.m. Thursday by a caller who reported hearing loud noises, then finding an unresponsive man outside an apartment where the door appeared kicked open, according to a news release from police Sgt. Courtney White.

Officers responded and found another man, 31, and a woman, 29, inside an apartment, White said. All three died.

Two children were found unharmed inside the apartment and were later released to family members.

“The man and woman found inside the apartment were in a dating relationship and lived at the apartment with the woman’s children,” White said. “The man found near the doorway appears to be an acquaintance who was visiting the apartment.”

The man found near the doorway outside the apartment was 29, White said.

The three bodies were sent to the medical examiner. The children's ages were not released.

White said witnesses told officers they saw a man running from the scene after the shooting, but no arrests have been announced.

Arlington is about 15 miles (24 kilometers) east of Forth Worth and about 20 miles (32 kilometers) west of Dallas.
