Fulshear police said three children were inside the house when Pulgar started the fire.

Two children escaped with minor injuries. However, authorities said a 3-year-old child remained trapped inside.

Police said officers heard faint sounds inside the house from the 3-year-old. The child suffered severe smoke inhalation and was airlifted to a hospital. The child has since been released.

Fulshear police did not specify the ages of the two other children.

Pulgar was taken to the hospital due to injuries from the incident, police said. He was released from the hospital on Thursday and taken to the Fort Bend County Jail.

His bond is set at $750,000 for each charge, totaling $2.25 million.
