JUNCTION, Texas – Search teams in Junction recovered the body of a third person on Saturday after heavy rains flooded the Llano River last Monday.
Crews discovered the remains just before 6:30 p.m. near Yates Crossing as search efforts entered their sixth day. The family of the deceased person was notified. Officials with the Texas A&M Forest Service declined to provide more details.
Saturdays discovery comes after the remains of two missing persons were found approximately 9 miles downstream from the South Llano RV Park on Thursday.
One person remains unaccounted-for.
A memorial ceremony for those who lost their lives in the flooding is being held at the Junction Volunteer Fire Department at 102 North Fifth Street at 7:30 a.m. Sunday.
