Family grieving after 10-year-old daughter killed in Thanksgiving shooting
Delilah Hernandez, 10, was killed in a drive-by shooting while sleeping in her house on Harwood Drive near Basse Road and West Avenue.
Police said 18-year-old Cody Gann was charged with the murder. Jasmine Cary, 19, is believed to be involved but has not been charged in connection with the murder. Instead, police arrested her on an evading arrest charge.
The pair were arrested, without incident, at a Motel 6 on Vance Jackson Road, near Interstate 10 around 8:30 p.m. Members of the Lone Star Fugitive Taskforce and SAPD Street Crimes Unit apprehended the two.
Neither suspect had much to say as they were being escorted by police to the jail.
Delilah was hit in the chest and rushed to the hospital, where she later died.

Police said Delilah’s brother was the intended target and identified the suspects, saying he had a relationship with Jasmine Cary and that the two threatened him the day of the shooting.
"It was a terrible, terrible tragedy that this little girl was killed due to gang violence that we believe her brother brought home with him," San Antonio Police Chief William McManus said.
