VICTORIA, Texas – The Texas Department of Public Safety seized more than $560,891 in cash during a traffic stop on U.S. Highway 77 in Victoria County.
According to a news release, a DPS trooper stopped a 2005 Chevy Tahoe traveling south on U.S. Highway 77 south of Inez for a traffic violation at around 9:30 p.m. on April 16.

The trooper discovered three bags of cash in the rear passenger seat, the news release said.
The driver, Luis Hernandez, 23, of Missouri City, and Nelly Romero, 21, of Houston, were arrested for money-laundering and booked into the Victoria County Jail.
