SAN ANTONIO – Your Thanksgiving turkey will cost a little more this year.

According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, turkey production is low and prices are up about 14 cents a pound.

The average price this year is $1.18 per pound, compared to $1.03 per pound last year.

The increase may not be noticable at the grocery store, as retailers often are willing to take a loss because customers will spend more for other items like potatoes and cranberries.
