SAN MARCOS, Texas – UPDATE - 9 p.m. -- All lanes of Interstate 35 in San Marcos has been reopened, TxDOT said.

The Texas Department of Transportation said Friday that Interstate 35 in San Marcos is closed for emergency repairs.
Both the northbound and southbound lanes have been shut down at Exit 208, TxDOT announced via its Twitter account.
Crews are working to complete emergency repairs on a damaged overhead sign structure.
Traffic is being forced to exit at the Blanco River and then re-enter the highway.
TxDOT said the sign support structure was hit around 4 a.m. by an out of control vehicle.
The closure is expected to last until 8 p.m.
Drivers are encouraged to seek alternate routes.
