Man accused of paying 15-year-old he met on 'MocoSpace' for sex

Domingo Gonzalez says he paid about $60 for sex with teen

SAN ANTONIO – A 48-year-old Uvalde man was arrested for compelling prostitution following an investigation by the Human Trafficking Unit of the Texas Attorney General's Office.

Domingo Gonzalez is accused of paying a girl under 18-years-old for sex, according to a news release from the Attorney General's Office.

The same news release identifies the victim as a 15-year-old rescued from domestic sex trafficking. It is not clear how old she was when Gonzalez allegedly paid her for sex.

The girl in question was in custody at the Bexar County Juvenile Detention Center in March. It was there that she told investigators that around April and May 2016, another man, who isn't identified in Gonzalez's arrest paperwork, had her engage in prostitution with different men in Bexar County.

Investigators said Gonzalez was one of those men.

The teen was able to identify an apartment at a complex on Babcock Road near Loop 410 as one where she engaged in commercial sex, according to the affidavit. The girl remembered going in through the back window.

Investigators identified Gonzalez after pulling the rental application for the apartment's residents and occupants.

Gonzalez and the girl both told investigators they connected through the social media website MocoSpace.com.

When investigators interviewed Gonzalez in October, he said there was only one girl who would go through his window and that she did it after he told her he had company.

Gonzalez told investigators it happened about a year and a half to two years before the interview, and he paid the girl about $60 for sex.

He could end up paying a lot more. Causing a child under 18 years old to commit prostitution -- even if the actor does not know the victim is a child -- is a first-degree felony.

If convicted, that could mean five or more years in prison.

Gonzalez was released on a $25,000 bond.
