SAN ANTONIO – VIA Metropolitan Transit has partnered with the Raul Jimenez Thanksgiving Dinner to provide complementary transportation to seniors this Thanksgiving.
VIA's website explained that the annual holiday tradition provides more than 24,000 meals, which are prepared and served by volunteers on Thanksgiving Day. Seniors ages 55 and older can enjoy complimentary rides to and from the event at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center on Thursday, Nov. 24. The dinner will be held in Exhibit Halls 3 and 4 from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The site explained that the transportation, which is being provided courtesy of the event organizers, includes regular line service as well as VIAtrans service for registered patrons. When boarding, passengers who inform the operator that they are attending the Jimenez Dinner and present a VIA Senior Citizens ID card or identification with proof of age will ride free. Guests will be dropped off and picked up at 900 E. Market St. Seniors who would like additional information regarding routes and scheduling on Thanksgiving Day may call 210-362-2020.
