SAN ANTONIO – If your allergies have been acting up lately, you can look to the sky for the answer... Really! If you look out at the horizon over the next day or so, you should be able to see a strange, orange-tinted haze .
Believe it or not, this is all because of African dust traveling to South Texas via the Trade Winds -- a steady, easterly wind near the tropics that throughout history has helped ships bring goods from the Old World to the New.

Today, these winds are transporting dust from the Saharan Desert over 5000 miles to San Antonio.
