SAN ANTONIO – Following a traffic wreck in which Frances Hall, 53, is accused of forcing her estranged husband’s motorcycle off the road, killing him, she inquired about seeking legal assistance.
That’s what a crime scene investigator, who was among the first officers at the scene, told the jury Wednesday during Hall’s murder trial.
“She said, ‘Am I going to need an attorney?’” Anita Price testified. “And I said, ‘Yeah, probably.’”
The lead detective in the case said Frances Hall’s Cadillac Escalade and her estranged husband’s motorcycle were removed from the scene and examined by experts.
“We were trying to figure out what part of the vehicle hit against the Escalade,” Detective Ruben Arrevalos told the jury.
The experts’ conclusion was that the motorcycle collided with the side of the SUV and was not struck from behind as had been suggested by Bill Hall’s girlfriend, who was also being chased by Frances Hall that night.
If she’s found guilty, Frances Hall faces a maximum sentence of life in prison.
Testimony will continue on Thursday in Judge Jefferson Moore’s 186th District Court.
