If the hornet does survive the colder months, there is a possibility it could migrate to states farther south, including Texas where the weather is warmer. So thereās not a lack of food to prevent them from coming down here.āHoneybees are vital to our ecosystem and environment, especially in South Texas. I just donāt think we have these just yet.āKeck said for the moment, there is not a reason to be overly concerned in South Texas. She said it will take time to study the āmurder hornetā in the United States and follow its breeding and migration patterns.

Traders Village San Antonio found itself in the middle of the confusion after Gov. Other flea markets in Texas that opened this past weekend include Traders Village Grand Prairie and Traders Village Houston. The mayor of San Antonio addressed why the flea markets could not open during Monday's daily COVID-19 briefing. We will work to confirm this information and the details so that Traders Village can re-open this weekend .

The first case confirmed in the U.S. was in mid-January and the first case confirmed in San Antonio was in mid-February.

Read full article: SA health officials recommend face covering to limit spread of COVID-19; Hereās how to make a homemade maskSAN ANTONIO ā The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has now officially recommended that everyone but infants should wear a cloth mask or face covering in certain public settings to prevent the spread of COVID-19. In addition, San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg announced Monday that Metro Health officials recommend anyone over five years old wear a cloth face covering over their nose and mouth in public. The CDC has a section on its website dedicated to making a homemade face mask or a cloth covering. - Be careful not to touch your eyes, nose, and mouth when removing the face covering and wash your hands immediately after its removed. The cloth face coverings recommended are not surgical masks or N-95 respirators, the CDC says.

Read full article: Understand: What are micro-hospitals?SAN ANTONIO ā Micro-hospitals are built in areas where thereās a need but not a big enough demand for a traditional hospital. Baptist Health System is opening a micro-hospital called Baptist Emergency Hospital near Cupples Road and Highway 90. Micro-hospitals are good for minor emergencies, like if someone breaks a leg or if someone thinks they are having a heart attack. Stone said micro-hospitals are cheaper than full-service hospitals because theyāre not as large, and they arenāt set up to treat everything. The Baptist Health System micro-hospital will open by the end of the month.

The commission voted 7-4 to approve a new location for the Cenotaph. The commission had tabled the item two weeks ago because of concerns over a pending lawsuit between a local indigenous group and the state and city. Iām all for that,ā said Forrest Byas, a supporter of the redesign plan. "I went to the Devils River back in college and just thought it was a beautiful, really neat place," Cameron said. "To make good whiskey requires good water," Cameron said. The first product Devils River Whisky produced was a bourbon, followed by a rye. A percentage of the sale of each bottle of whiskey goes towards conserving the Devils River.

The letter asked for the sisters to help take care of victims of a cholera outbreak in the city. āThe sisters and the school always emphasized science, along with the humanities and the arts,ā said Hinojosa. āAt Christmas time we celebrate, the Nativity of the Lord, which is the celebration of the word incarnate,ā Hinojosa said. āIt's been a long haul from that little letter where the mayor needed help and bishop wrote for help for the sisters.ā

Michelle Durham, with BEAT AIDS, said it's a doable plan since there is already a national HIV/AIDS strategy to end the virus by 2030. Durham said there are about 7,000 people who currently have HIV or AIDS in San Antonio and 1.2 million in the country. BEAT AIDS is inviting the community to a free luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Second Baptist Church. February 7th is National HIV / AIDS Awareness Day!
