I believe it is important to have a balanced perspective of what you see on social media. The same can be said for astronomy related pictures and videos posted to social media. The top part of the video is a reasonably accurate representation of what my eyes saw during a recent aurora in northern Raleigh, NC. The bottom part of the video is the same as the top with added tweaks to show the background better and enhance the colors of the aurora. Both videos have scientific merit, but only the top video provides a level of expectation of what people might see when viewing an aurora in real time.
