Summer treat at a new bakery, how to make an old fashioned, summer learning for kids + more

SAN ANTONIO – Do you like sweet or salty? We’re debating that today on SA Live! Weigh in on Facebook and Twitter.

On the sweet side, we have key lime pie by one of our favorite bakers, Dario Arellano who has a new spot at The Study Space over near UTSA. On the salty side, we’re nuts about pistachios! How these little shelled bites of goodness pack all the amino acids you need.

Also today, beat the summer slide with continuous learning for your kids. A few websites to keep in mind: Hand2Mind, Schleich, Little Medical School and E-Blox.

The San Antonio Public Library rounded up some books and videos for kids and adults about race and social justice.

Plus, free Whataburger, free car washes for grads, a cocktail with Maverick Whiskey, a recap with the Freedom Riders, five ways to throw the ultimate backyard wedding and how to keep your pets safe in the South Texas heat.

SA Live airs weekdays at 1 p.m. on KSAT 12. Stream the show anytime from the KSAT TV app on Roku, Fire Stick, your smart TV or your smartphone. You can watch the full show in the video above.
