Spring into spring with bluebonnets, butterfly gardens, coffee & take-and-bake meals, silver jewelry at Market Square & popular chick’n

Texas blooms are springing up! (Katrina Webber, KSAT 12 News)

SAN ANTONIO – Today at 1 p.m., we continue our “Spring into Spring Week” with bluebonnets, how to make a butterfly garden, coffee and take-and-bake meals, jewelry at Historic Market Square and healthier local fast food.

Spring has sprung, and so have the wildflowers! Where you can snap those oh-so-popular Texas bluebonnet photos, and we get a bluebonnet 101 lesson with the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center.

Plus, Jen takes us to Rainbow Gardens on Bandera Road to learn how to make a butterfly garden! You can sign up for their native milkweed from seeds class here.

They were featured on ABC’s “Shark Tank,” and now their business is booming. Project Pollo makes us some tasty, soy-based chick’n fast food that’s healthier than the real thing.

Looking for some great coffee and take-and-bake meals? You can find them all under one roof at Rose Hip Market! This local organic coffee trailer and micro bakery has a new location in Olmos Park and we’re sampling their eats.

We’re also featuring the business next door! Plaza Taxco is a local silver jewelry store that’s family owned and operated right next door to SA Live in Historic Market Square. Find an homage to their hometown, Taxco, with the most beautiful pieces of sterling silver jewelry and other unique finds.

SA Live airs weekdays at 1 p.m. on KSAT 12. Stream the show anytime from the KSAT+ app on Roku, smart TV, or smartphone.
