SAN ANTONIO – Today at 1 p.m., it’s a busy weekend and we have a lineup of events in our area that you’re going to want on your calendar. Plus, we take you behind the curtain at the Majestic, do some fun eclipse science experiments and get up close with nocturnal animals.
Some call it the funniest musical of all time. “The Book of Mormon” comes to the Majestic Theatre today through Sunday, and we chat with one of the cast members.

There are always a ton of fun events around San Antonio, and that’s especially true this weekend ahead of the total solar eclipse. Here’s a lineup in our community calendar:
- The Great Texas AirShow at Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph this Saturday and Sunday.
- CarFest 2024 at the Freeman Coliseum today through Sunday. They’re going to be giving away a car every 2 hours!
- Kuhlman Cellars in Stonewall is hosting a Solar Eclipse Party on Monday, complete with activities, food and wine.
- Rhinory in Fredericksburg is hosting its Total Eclipse of the Horn event on Monday to celebrate the eclipse. All the profits will go to support rhino conservation efforts.
- 31 Texas State Parks will be in totality on Monday, so make sure you check ahead if you’re planning to hike or camp this weekend.
- Several San Antonio spots are throwing watch parties for the eclipse on Monday. They’re listed here.
