SAN ANTONIO – The Johnson Jaguars will lean on their defense to get back to the playoffs this season.
Johnson returns 15 starters from a team that finished 4-2 in District 26-6A and 7-4 overall.
Nine of those starters are on the defensive end including linebackers Tanner Reed and Cole Jacobsen.
On offense, wide receiver Brandon McDuffie returns after racking up almost 700 yards receiving and nine touchdowns last season.
The Jaguars kick off their season by hosting the Brandeis Broncos on Sept. 1 at Heroes Stadium.
