Highlands senior Layla Mendoza notches 2,000 career points

24th area girls basketball player to break threshold

SAN ANTONIO – During Highlands’ 61-48 victory over Burbank last week, Owls senior Layla Mendoza became the 24th area girls basketball players to score 2,000 career points. The District 27-5A leader in points per game and Highlands head coach Adrianna Wiatrek took the opportunity to discuss the accomplishment with KSAT 12’s Larry Ramirez.
