Scholar Athlete: Christian Gonzalez, Fox Tech High School

SAN ANTONIO – Meet Instant Replay’s newest Scholar Athlete of the Week, Christian Gonzalez of Fox Tech High School.

Christian is a four-year member of the varsity basketball and cross country teams. He’s a member of the National Honor Society, is a school ambassador and a two-year member of Skills USA, which recently set up a program to help the homeless in downtown San Antonio. He maintains a 3.9 grade point average and is ranked ninth in his class. Christian plans to attend UTSA and major in Architecture.

WHAT MEMORIES DO YOU TAKE AWAY WITH YOU AS YOU LEAVE HIGH SCHOOL?

“Some of my most fondest memories are spending time with my teammates, like going over to each others houses or going out to eat and getting to know each other better. We are not only a team but a family.”

WHAT ADVICE DO YOU HAVE FOR YOUR FELLOW STUDENTS?

“Consistency is key to being a great athlete and a great scholar. Even when you don’t want to do it, those late practices and late assignments, whatever it is you have to do it.”

WHAT ARE YOUR PLANS AFTER YOU GRADUATE HIGH SCHOOL?

“My plans for after high school are to attend UTSA for their Architecture program.”
