SAN ANTONIO – Meet Instant Replay’s newest Scholar Athlete of the Week, Genna Bermea of McCollum High School.
Genna is a four-year member of the varsity soccer team. She’s also ran for the track team at McCollum. She was named Second-Team All-District in soccer last year. She also performs community service through Operation Cowboy Christmas and the McCollum Trunk or Treat. She maintains a 3.7 GPA and is ranked in the top twenty percent of her class. Genna plans to attend the United States Coast Guard where she will pursue her education and major in Aviation.
WHAT MEMORIES DO YOU TAKE AWAY WITH YOU AS YOU LEAVE HIGH SCHOOL?
“My fondest memory of high school has to be when I’m out there on the field with my team. They are always making me laugh and smile and I hold that close to my heart.”
WHAT ADVICE DO YOU HAVE FOR YOUR FELLOW STUDENTS?
“Be better with time management. See what works for you since not everyone’s schedule is the same. Don’t forget to have fun and don’t take things too seriously.”
WHAT ARE YOUR PLANS AFTER YOU GRADUATE HIGH SCHOOL?
“I plan to enlist in the United State Coast Guard and pursue my education in service.”
