SAN ANTONIO – Meet Instant Replay’s newest Scholar Athlete of the Week, Sarahi Rivas of Southside High School.
Sarahi is a member of the varsity volleyball, basketball and track teams. She was named First-Team All-District in basketball as a junior and is a member of the National Honor Society. She also performs community service by helping out the Intramural games with elementary school kids every week. She also helps at the local food bank on weekends at Southside High School. Sarahi maintains a 95.4 GPA and is ranked in the top 10 percent of her class. She plans to attend UTSA and major in Education.
WHAT MEMORIES DO YOU TAKE AWAY WITH YOU AS YOU LEAVE HIGH SCHOOL?
“My fondest memory of high school has to be playing basketball. All the girls that joined the team, it all was just an exciting experience.”
WHAT ADVICE DO YOU HAVE FOR YOUR FELLOW STUDENTS?
“Study, study hard. Find ways to enjoy it all.”
WHAT ARE YOUR PLANS AFTER YOU GRADUATE HIGH SCHOOL?
“I plan to attend UTSA and major in Education. I thought this would be a great way to give back to the community in a way and I enjoy being around younger kids.”
