SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio decided on another prospect from a college basketball blueblood with its final selection of the 2024 NBA Draft.

The team selected University of North Carolina small forward Harrison Ingram, who spent one year in Chapel Hill after two seasons at Stanford University, with the 48th selection on Thursday afternoon.

Ingram, who is 6-foot-7, averaged 12.2 points and 8.8 rebounds in his final college season. He started 36 of 37 games and shot 38.5% on three-pointers on a college career-high 4.6 three-point attempts in 2023-24.

The first-ever Day 2 of the NBA Draft also did not stop the Spurs from orchestrating yet another reported trade.

According to Stadium NBA insider Shams Charania, San Antonio traded its rights to University of Kansas small forward Johnny Furphy — the No. 35 overall pick — to the Indiana Pacers for Juan Nunez, the No. 36 overall pick.

Charania said the Pacers are also sending cash considerations to the Spurs.

Nunez, 20, is a 6-foot-4 point guard from Spain who has also suited up for Spain’s national team.

The NBA draft’s second round began just after 3:15 p.m. Thursday when the Toronto Raptors selected Jonathan Mogbo, a power forward from the University of San Francisco, at No. 31 overall. Duke power forward Kyle Filipowski was taken off the board by the Utah Jazz at No. 32 overall.

The Milwaukee Bucks dipped into the Lone Star State when they selected Richmond, Texas native and G League Ignite power forward Tyler Smith at No. 33.

The Portland Trail Blazers selected Marquette point guard Tyler Kolek at No. 34 but will reportedly be sent to the New York Knicks, according to Charania.

Entering Thursday, the Spurs were just one of four teams who owned their original second-round draft choice. The other three teams are the Miami Heat (No. 43 overall), Sacramento Kings (No. 45 overall) and Orlando Magic (No. 47 overall).

By the end of the draft, no team owned its original second-round draft pick.

Miami later traded its No. 43 pick, Nikola Durisic, to the Atlanta Hawks. Before the start of Thursday’s second round, the Kings traded the No. 45 pick, which would become University of Houston point guard Jamal Shead, forward Sasha Vezenkov and guard Davion Mitchell to the Toronto Raptors in exchange for power forward Jalen McDaniels.

The Magic also sent rights to the No. 47 overall pick — University of Kentucky shooting guard Antonio Reeves — to the New Orleans Pelicans in a trade.

The Philadelphia 76ers and Phoenix Suns forfeited their 2024 second-round picks due to free-agency tampering punishments leveled by the NBA.

The Spurs decided to draft one pick and trade another during Wednesday night’s first round of the 2024 NBA Draft. San Antonio selected UConn guard and NCAA champion Stephon Castle with the fourth overall pick.

Four picks later, the Spurs drafted Kentucky guard Rob Dillingham and promptly traded him to the Minnesota Timberwolves. Minnesota returned the right to swap its protected 2030 first-round draft pick and its 2031 unprotected first-round draft pick to San Antonio.
