LAS VEGAS – The Las Vegas Raiders are placing Judson High School and University of Texas at San Antonio alum Sincere McCormick on injured reserve, according to NFL Insider Ian Rapoport.

This means McCormick’s sophomore year in the National Football League (NFL) is over, as he will begin rehab on an ankle injury that he suffered while playing against the Atlanta Falcons during Monday Night Football.

His injury also comes at a time after he was named the Raiders’ starting running back.

Before his career start, McCormick, a Converse native, filled in for three games, tallying 175 yards on 32 carries, averaging 5.5 yards per rush.

His performance prompted Raiders’ head coach Antonio Pierce to give him the starting role despite the return of running backs Alexander Mattison and Ameer Abdullah, who were nursing injuries earlier this season.

This will be the second time McCormick has been sidelined in his professional career. Before grinding his way to a starting role, he tore his ACL and LCL before the start of mandatory minicamp in 2022.
