SCHERTZ, Texas – The Clemens Buffaloes are feeling confident as they look to bounce back this season after missing the playoffs last year.
Head coach Jared Johnston’s squad returns with 14 starters from last year’s team.
One of the key losses was quarterback Frank Harris, but former Wagner quarterback Jordan Burleson is expected to take over under center.
Burleson has several playmakers around him including four-star recruit Tommy Bush and running back Marshawn Brown.

The defense is led by linemen Savien Jenkins and Carter Breu, and defensive back Darius VanDyke, who had six interceptions last season.
Clemens is a sleeper pick in a tough district that featured Judson, Steele and Smithson Valley.
The Buffs open their season with a tough matchup at Round Rock on Sept. 1.
