SAN ANTONIO – With a dominant defensive performance, the Sotomayor Wildcats defeated the Brennan Bears for the second time this season.
Sotomayor High School point guard Jordan Pete scored a game-high 20 points in the win on Wednesday. During the game, Pete was able to tally her 1,500th career point.
After the game, KSAT asked Pete about the milestone and how gratifying it was to reach 1,500 career points during an important win.

“It feels great to meet those and beat those expectations that everyone has for me and for myself. It’s always been a goal to reach 2,000 points for my whole high school career,” said Pete. “So I put in the work daily, and with my team, they help me. They support me. They count on me to do my job, and I did my job. And I got my 1,500, so it feels good.”
“2,000 is next?” KSAT asked Pete.
“Yes, sir!” said Pete.
With the win, Sotomayor moved into first place in the District 28-6A standings.
The Wildcats will face the O’Connor Panthers on Saturday afternoon.
