SAN ANTONIO – It’s been two years since Tim Duncan retired at the age of 40, but the Spurs future Hall of Famer has shown no signs that his skills have diminished in any way.
Duncan has been working out with the big men on the current Spurs roster.
He was seen on Tuesday at the Spurs facility working on post moves with rookie forward Chimezie Metu, forward Jaron Blossomgame and veteran forward Quincy Pondexter.
Duncan frequently attends Spurs practices and was seen last week working out with rookie guard Lonnie Walker IV.
“He’s helping young guys, new guys, so it’s nothing unusual for us to see, but anytime he’s out on the floor helping us as a team, it’s always special,” guard Patty Mills said.
However, when asked about a possible Duncan return, Mills made it clear it's not happening. "No chance,” he said.
Head coach Gregg Popovich was also asked about Duncan’s presence on Tuesday and joked.
“He’s working harder than he ever did as a player, that’s for sure,” Popovich said.
