DALLAS – Despite the NFL refusing to release its investigation on Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott, a portion of the league’s 160-page report was leaked to Yahoo Sports’ Charles Robinson, shedding new light on domestic violence victim and Elliott’s accuser Tiffany Thompson.

In Yahoo’s report, Thompson admitted to NFL Investigators that she discussed blackmailing Elliott to an unnamed friend with sex tapes for incentives.
The conversation via text messages between Thompson and the unidentified friend was found by NFL investigators and now released by Yahoo Sports:
(WARNING: TEXT MESSAGES CONTAIN STRONG LANGUAGE)
[Thompson]: What if I sold mine and Ezekiel’s sex videos
[Friend]: We’d all be millionaires
[Friend]: We could black mail him w that
[Thompson]: I want to bro
[Friend]: Let’s do it

Shortly after Yahoo’s report, Joe Lockhart, NFL Executive VP of Communications, released a statement via Twitter saying: “Over the past few days we’ve received multiple reports of the NFLPA (NFL Players Association) spreading derogatory information to the media about the victim in Ezekiel Elliott discipline case.”

“It’s a common tactic to attempt to prove the innocence of the accused by discrediting the victim – in this case Ms. Thompson – when coming forward to report abuse,” NFL’s statement says.

The NFL has been investigating the Cowboys running back for more than a year after ex-girlfriend Thompson filed a report against him in July 2016, accusing him of domestic abuse in Columbus, Ohio, where Elliott played football for Ohio State University.
Dallas RB Ezekiel Elliott officially has appealed his 6-game suspension, per source. A hearing now must be scheduled within 10 days.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Tuesday that Elliott filed for an appeal and will argue that Thompson “made multiple threats to ‘ruin his career’” and the appeal will “highlight the text messages from Thompson that encouraged police about the alleged domestic assault in July 2016.”

Yahoo’s Robinson reports that Elliott’s lawyers and the NFL Players Union plan to use the text messages as a collection of items questioning Thompson’s credibility.
In a letter sent from the NFL to Ezekiel Elliott, the league said there’s credible evidence suggesting “physical force against Ms. Thompson resulting in her injury” on a number of occasions during the week of July 16, 2016.

The Columbus district attorney never pursued charges against Elliott, but the NFL can suspend or penalize its players without any legal charges.
The hearing for Elliott’s appeal of his suspension will be held Aug. 26.

Despite reports of NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell to hear the appeal, the league’s Harold Henderson, an appeals officer since 2008, will hear Elliott’s appeal.
