SAN ANTONIO – KSAT12 is taking a big leap into the future with a new hi-tech media center that's set to hit the air Thursday, beginning on KSAT12 News at 5 with anchors Ursula Pari, Charles Gonzalez sitting in for Steve Spriester, Greg Simmons and Adam Caskey.
For nearly a year, KSAT12 has been working on the design and technology aspects of the new set. Once that was completed, all newscasts were broadcast from the station's newsroom during the past two months while construction has been underway in the studio.

"Beginning this Thursday, viewers will see a spectacular new set, featuring new technology that hasn't been seen in the San Antonio market," KSAT12 Vice President and General Manager Phil Lane said. "We've taken big steps using future technology to deliver more, because we know our viewers expect more."
KSAT12 News Director Bernice Kearney Bonner said the news team "has been rehearsing with the new set and the new technology, and we can't wait to show it off."
For more than 10 years, KSAT12 News has broadcast its newscasts using virtual technology that required the news set to be surrounded by a green screen, as seen in many Hollywood movies. The new, upgraded set will feature bright colors, LED walls and lots of movement. The new set was designed by West Coast designer Michael Wright and features many ways to deliver more content.
"We hope San Antonio viewers will be as excited as we are to present a fresh, new look that will take us into the future," Lane said. "Our team has worked very hard to put it all together, and we can't wait to share it with all of South Texas."
