This week on Texas Eats, David Elder takes you on two ghost tours across the Alamo City.

The first stop on this week’s episode is at Paciugo - a dessert shop at the Quarry in San Antonio. Paciugo serves up spaghetti made out of gelato, affogato, and a cookie-brownie sundae, all loaded with scratch-made gelato.

Second is Schilo’s Delicatessen, the oldest restaurant in San Antonio. The restaurant is known for its craft-made root beer and its famous Rueben sandwich stacked with made-in-house sauerkraut.

Guests and workers alike believe the decades-old building is haunted. General Manager Nicole Amerson talks about her paranormal experiences at the restaurant, including being physically moved by a supernatural entity across a room.

The Texas Eats team then stops in at the Castle Hills Japanese restaurant Sushishima to learn more about their extensive sushi selections. The restaurant features a yakiniku grill - an area available to customers with grills in the middle of their table where guests can cook their proteins, including A5 wagyu steak.

Jordan Ford General Manager Casey Ogletree goes on a food cruise with David Elder to the original Burger Boy in San Antonio, located off North St. Mary’s Street. The duo orders a loaded triple cheeseburger and their limited-time cinnamon roll cheesecake milkshake.

The last stop for this week’s show is at the Crockett Hotel and the Crockett Tavern. The Crockett Hotel is more than 100 years old and has a reputation as being one of the most haunted hotels in Texas, according to Yelp in 2021. After a ghost tour through the building - the Tavern serves up ice-cold cocktails, huge burgers, chicken wings, pork ribs, and a loaded, smoked-in-house brisket grilled cheese sandwich.
