Apple complained that requests from Meta Platforms requests for access to its operating software threaten user privacy, in a spat fueled by the European Union’s intensifying efforts to get the iPhone maker to open up to products from tech rivals.

An independent Russian news site has reported that a court in Russia convicted the spokesperson of U.S. technology company Meta, which owns Facebook and Instagram, of justifying terrorism and sentenced him to six years in prison in absentia.

Russia's interior ministry has added the spokesman of U.S. technology company Meta to a wanted list according to its online database.
