Lynn led the franchise to the playoffs in 2018 but Los Angeles had losing records the last two seasons. Hired by the Chargers in January 2017, Lynn was the first Black head coach in franchise history and had one year remaining on his contract.

The crew member did not test positive for COVID-19, so the rest of Christopher Bell’s crew was unchanged. French players tested positive, forcing tournament organizers to call off the match in Dublin to prevent further infections within the team. Also, one member of the Scottish squad tested positive on Thursday. This is the first time a Chargers player has tested positive since the league’s daily testing started during training camp.

When asked about his level of frustration with what happened, Lynn said he wasn't angry about what occurred because the mistake wasn't intentional. Herbert said he found out he was playing right as the Chargers were lining up to receive the opening kickoff. Taylor was taken off it, though, after fully participating in practice and taking all of the snaps with the first team. Lynn said he is eager to see how Herbert does with a week of practice with the first unit.

Butker connected from 58 yards with 1:55 remaining in overtime to give the Chiefs a 23-20 victory on Sunday. Butker’s game-winner was his third field goal of the day and his second from 58 yards, which tied a Chiefs record for distance. In overtime, Butker sent the ball through the uprights from 53 yards, but Kansas City was called for a false start. He also had four runs for 29 yards, including a 22-yard scramble on third-and-21 late in regulation to put the Chiefs into field goal range.

Carroll and the Seahawks brought Kaepernick in for a workout in 2017 and had another planned in 2018 but it was canceled. Lynn was the offensive coordinator for most of the 2016 season in Buffalo, where Taylor was his quarterback.
